Wind Analysis Specialist
Co. Kildare | Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid Working
Our client is looking for a Wind Analysis Specialist to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of renewable energy projects. This role will focus on wind resource assessment, site optimisation, and supporting the design of high-performing wind farms.
What you'll be doing:
* Designing and optimising wind farm layouts using tools such as WindPro, Windfarmer or Openwind
* Carrying out wind resource assessments, energy yield analysis, and site suitability studies
* Analysing GIS data and project constraints to inform design decisions
* Supporting solar layout design (e.g. PVsyst) where required
* Managing and analysing wind measurement data (mast, LiDAR)
* Contributing to environmental and technical studies (noise, shadow flicker, visual impact)
* Working with internal teams and external consultants to optimise project outcomes
* Supporting procurement and technical due diligence for renewable projects
What we're looking for:
* Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field
* 4+ years' experience in wind analysis or renewable energy projects
* Strong experience with WindPro (or similar wind modelling software such as Windfarmer or Openwind)
* Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)
* Data analysis skills (Excel, Python, MATLAB, R or similar)
* Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
* Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
