We have an excellent opportunity for a Systems Business Analyst on a 14-month contract, based out of our Stanford le Hope office. This role acts as a liaison between the IT development group and business units for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Responsibilities include analyzing detailed business requirements, process mapping, preparing functional designs for IT solutions, and communicating system enhancements.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience as a Systems Business Analyst, ideally within the Port or Logistics industry. Proficiency with BA tools such as Jira and Confluence and supporting stakeholders to bridge business and IT is essential.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (Mon-Fri)
Contract: 14-month Fixed Term Contract
How you will contribute
1. Work closely with DP World UK departments translating business requirements into operational system solutions.
2. Maintain the Business Process Model and all its scenarios.
3. Build relevant test beds based on Business Process Scenarios.
4. Ensure extensive system testing prior to production.
5. Assist in setting up operational procedures and training manuals.
6. Provide training to supervisors and key users during testing and commissioning.
7. Train first-line support staff and operations users.
8. Minimize system customization during orientation and analysis sessions with system suppliers.
What You Will Bring
1. Computer science, Business Analyst, or relevant IT degree (desirable).
2. Proven experience in the Transportation and/or Logistics industry.
3. Knowledge of Container Terminal Business and Terminal Operation System Software.
4. Knowledge of Container Terminal Automation (an advantage).
5. Good understanding of the IT environment.
6. Experience with Business Process Modelling.
7. Project management and requirements analysis experience.
8. Ability to devise and implement IT test plans, including user training.
9. Strong team working skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
10. Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
11. Ability to use initiative and work independently.
12. Strong organizational and project management skills.
13. Understanding of application programming, database, and system design.
14. Contribute to continuous business improvement and meet business objectives.
15. Represent the company professionally internally and externally.
16. Other ad hoc duties as required.
