Job Description

As Corporate Security Senior Advisor, you’ll work in a small team responsible for providing assurance that security risks are addressed and our security culture is improved. You will serve as a role model for security, promoting a positive culture and fostering good behaviors. Your role will contribute to protecting the organisation from security threats that could impact our people, data, information, or physical assets.
In this role you will:
1. Help the Corporate Security Manager oversee and mitigate security risks.
2. Provide leadership on assessing and managing security risks, including our security responsibilities.
3. Collaborate with risk owners across the organization to understand, assess, and mitigate risks.
4. Provide assurance to the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO), EA Board, and Executive Directors.
5. Partner with Defra group Security to ensure security strategies, policies, and processes are in place.
6. Lead initiatives to enhance our security culture through training, communication, and engagement.
7. Manage governance meetings to oversee security decisions.
8. Maintain networks with security professionals to stay updated on the latest developments.

The team
You will be part of a small, welcoming team within the Corporate Management, Assurance, and Security team, focused on protecting and empowering the organization. You will access expert advice from Defra group Security and work with subject matter experts at the Environment Agency.
Experience/Skills Required
* An appreciation of the wider influences on organizational security to enable continuous improvement.
* Proven leadership skills to achieve outcomes, promote partnerships, influence, and inspire others.
* Ability to build effective partnerships with Defra and Environment Agency colleagues for risk management.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, managing multiple priorities, and balancing demands.
* Experience in inspiring cultural change, stakeholder management, communication, engagement, and implementing business change is beneficial.

This is a hybrid role; you will be based at your nearest location in England with the option to work from home. Some national travel may be required for meetings.
