Business Development Director - Central Government
Boutique Data Analytics Consultancy | UK Remote
Compensation - £up to £110K base salary + 10-15% annual bonus +10% pension + EMI Equity Profit share
This is a career-defining opportunity for a senior public sector business development leader to join a high-growth data analytics consultancy at a pivotal point in its journey with genuine equity upside and a clear path to a life-changing EMI exit.
About the company
We're partnering with a boutique data analytics consultancy that has earned a strong reputation delivering high-impact work across UK central government, with established, active engagements in departments including DWP and HMRC. Following sustained year-on-year growth, they are now expanding their central government footprint and looking for a senior commercial leader to drive that next chapter.
The role
As the Business Development Director, you will own new logo acquisition and strategic expansion across central government, building trusted relationships in departments such as the Home Office, Land Registry, and DVLA, and shaping how government organisations tackle complex, large-scale citizen data challenges.
What you'll do
* Build new senior relationships across central government, with a focus on departments beyond existing DWP/HMRC accounts
* Lead end-to-end business development identifying, shaping, and winning new engagements aligned to departmental priorities
* Collaborate with delivery teams to scope and position impactful data solutions
* Champion the consultancy as a strategic data partner across government
Who we're looking for
* You have a demonstrable track record of winning new business within UK central government, not just managing it
* You've opened doors in major departments, converted complex opportunities into revenue, and built relationships at the most senior levels.
* Proven new business wins within UK central government departments — local government or wider public sector alone is not sufficient
* Strong background in business development within technology or data consulting
* Experience selling or delivering solutions involving large-scale, sensitive citizen data (highly desirable)
* Senior relationships across central government, particularly beyond DWP and HMRC
* Commercially astute, highly credible, and confident, influencing senior stakeholders
Why this role
* Equity & exit - Defined EMI exit plan with genuine ownership upside
* Impactful work - Data-driven solutions that genuinely improve public services
* Flexibility - Remote-first, outcome-focused, with an optional 4-day week
* Growth - Join a scaling consultancy at the right moment in its trajectory
If you have a proven record of opening new doors across UK central government through technology (IT, Cloud, cyber, digital) or data consulting and the relationships, credibility, and commercial instincts to match — we'd love to hear from you.
