The Role

We are looking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic teacher to deliver A Level Religious Studies and Alevel Philosophy.We are looking for a full-time member of staff with dynamism and passion for their subject to start in January 2026.With a friendly, supportive team, and exceptional College facilities, this is an exciting time to join our growing College.

Applications from ECTs and Teachers in Schools and Sixth Form College sectors are welcome. A full mentoring programme is arranged to introduce all new staff to sixth form college systems and procedures and to support and encourage professional development. We are looking for exceptional candidates to join the team and inspire our students. We expect high performance from all our staff and candidates should demonstrate their ability and suitability to both the role and the culture of the College.


The Department

The Humanities Department covers A Level Geography, Law, Philosophy and Religious Studies and Vocational Travel & Tourism and Applied Law.Student numbers are very healthy with a record number of applications for September 2025.Students for these subjects go on to study at a range of universities including Oxbridge, degree apprenticeships and into the workplace. All students taking vocational courses complete work experience organised by the College’s careers department.

The Department has high expectations of its students and is proactive in offering a range of support to ensure students meet their targets. These include regular study support workshops, personalised support and an Easter revision conference.

Students are actively encouraged to extend their learning outside the classroom and the Department organises a range of extracurricular activities including guest speakers, educational visits and lunchtime talks and short courses. The Department of nine teachers is a friendly, focused team with a passion for innovative approaches to teaching and learning.

Salary: £33,467 to £51,014 pa (FTE), depending on experience (including fringe allowance). Figures subject to change in line with future nationally-agreed pay increases
