We specialize in supporting vulnerable children aged 7 to 16 with a wide range of complex needs. We are excited to announce the opening of our new school in Battle, East Sussex, which will accommodate up to 60 pupils. Nestled within a beautiful country estate, our school offers a visually stunning environment for both students and staff.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a One to One Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational journey of our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
* Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than five pupils.
* Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons.
* Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, collaborating with other staff to meet pupils' needs.
* Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips.
* Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
* Setting work where appropriate and marking assignments.
* Building positive relationships with pupils to drive interaction and achieve positive learning outcomes.
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
* A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with a minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics, along with sound IT skills.
* Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting.
* Confidence to lead on a specialism (e.g., Reading, Mathematics, Forest School).
* Experience in behavior management techniques.
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, with costs covered by ISP.
Working Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, which will be funded by ISP School Battle.
