Role Overview:
As our business evolves under new senior leadership and a refreshed strategic direction, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented finance professional to join our Group Finance team as Group Financial Accountant. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and fast-paced FTSE 250 housebuilding group, offering the opportunity to contribute to the transformation of our financial operations and reporting capabilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Group Financial Controller to deliver accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting, support strategic decision-making, and drive continuous improvement across financial systems and processes. A key focus will be on optimising the use of the COINS ERP platform to enhance data integrity, reporting efficiency, and business insight.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Group Financial Controller in the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, and year-end statutory reporting.
* Work closely with regional finance teams to ensure accurate and consistent reporting across the group.
* Support the preparation of Board reports, audit committee packs, and other group-level financial documentation.
* Help coordinate the external audit process, including liaising with auditors and preparing supporting schedules.
* Maintain and develop COINS ERP reporting structures, ensuring alignment with financial reporting requirements.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of financial controls and best practices across the group.
* Drive improvements in financial processes, automation, and use of technology, especially within COINS.
* Support group budgeting and forecasting cycles.
* Undertake ad hoc financial analysis and projects as directed by the Group FC.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 2+ years post-qualified experience.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge, ideally with experience in listed or large corporate environments.
* Experience working with COINS ERP in a housebuilding or construction setting is highly desirable.
* Solid understanding of financial reporting, consolidations, and group accounting principles.
* Strong Excel skills and experience with financial systems/reporting tools.
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
* Proactive, hands-on, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
