We are currently supporting a well-established precision engineering company who are looking to appoint an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key leadership role within a modern, forward-thinking business known for its high standards, craftsmanship, and investment in technology.
The successful candidate will oversee a busy CNC department, ensuring that production runs efficiently, quality standards are maintained, and customer deadlines are consistently achieved. You will lead a small, skilled team of machinists while remaining hands-on with the programming, setting, and operation of 3 & 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
This position would suit someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and has the technical and leadership skills to get the best out of their team.
Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day running of the CNC machining area.

Program, set, and operate CNC Milling Machines (3 & 5 Axis).
*
Lead by example to maintain quality, productivity, and safety standards.
*
Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and ensure work is completed to tight tolerances.
*
Support team members with technical challenges and provide on-the-job training where required.
*
Monitor performance and implement improvements in line with lean manufacturing principles.
*
Work collaboratively with management and other departments to maintain workflow and delivery schedules.
Requirements:
*
Strong background in CNC milling, ideally with experience in Hypermill or similar CAM software.
*
Proven ability to lead a small team within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
*
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain tight tolerances.
*
A proactive and positive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
*
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
