We are a small but fast growing independent pet nutrition manufacturer producing supplements, functional products, and specialist pet food for our own brands and private label partners.
We're hiring a practical Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day bookkeeping and routine financial organisation. This is an on-site role, based within an industrial, manufacutring enviroment.
This role helps keep financial records accurate, up to date, and well-maintained so the wider business runs smoothly. This is a hands-on support role linked to site operations, not a data-entry, 'pass to accountant' style role.
What You'll Do
* Review automated purchase and sales postings relating to the site
* Maintain up-to-date bank and card reconciliations
* Chase missing invoices, credits, and supplier statements
* Contact suppliers, platforms, or software support to resolve queries
* Prepare organised information for VAT and month-end reporting
* Respond to finance-related requests from site teams
* Investigate and resolve routine issues rather than leaving them outstanding
You will work alongside operational teams to ensure the financial side reflects what is happening in production and despatch.
You Must Be Comfortable
* Working in a practical, operational environment
* Being on-site regularly
* Communicating with suppliers and resolving queries
* Working independently on routine finance tasks

First 6 Months FocusMonths 1–3: Stability
* Bring reconciliations fully up to date
* Clear any outstanding finance queries
* Ensure supplier statement matching is organised
* Get routine bookkeeping tasks running smoothly
Months 3–6: Consistency
* Keep records reliably current
* Support smooth month-end preparation
* Help maintain clear financial organisation around purchasing

About You

You likely have experience in:
* Bookkeeping or finance support
* Reconciliations and supplier queries

* Can work independently while taking direction
