About the role:
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated full or partially qualified accountant to join our management accountancy team. You will manage a team of staff who work closely with services providing budgetary support and advice and help to create an organisational culture that recognises the value of robust financial control and governance, where services understand their role in fulfilling this. This role will be
mainly home working with a day or two a month in the office in Llandrindod Wells. 37 hours (or part time hours considered), Permanent or Fixed Term. There will be a requirement of a presentation on the day of the interview.
About you:
A part or fully qualified accountant with expertise of working in a financial environment.
You will be proficient in using finance systems and an expert with Microsoft Office, especially excel.
You will be interested in working with budget holders and supporting them to improve their financial acumen
Good communication skills and able to explain financial information in a way that non financial officers remain engaged
What you will do:
Staff management, ensuring they are managed and motivated to deliver and develop in their roles
Ensure budget setting and forecasts are robust
Attend budget holder meetings and ensure they fully understand and own their budgets and forecast
Year end accounts are accurate and are audited with no further issue
Grant claims are completed and submitted by deadlines
Statistical analysis and returns, including benchmarking and value for money analysis
