Make a Lasting Impact in the Lives of Young People

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Occupational Therapist to join our specialist team at Oakwood Learning Centre and Elmbank Learning Centre in Heighinton. This is a rare opportunity to work part-time in a therapeutic educational environment supporting children and young people with developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental conditions, and special educational needs (SEN).

Join a nurturing, multidisciplinary team that’s committed to delivering life-changing outcomes through holistic, person-centred interventions. Whether you’re looking to specialise further or step into a role with genuine purpose, this is your chance to make a difference while enjoying a flexible and rewarding career.

We recognise your dedication with the best salary and benefits package in the sector, including:

35 Days Holiday (incl. Bank Holidays): Recharge and reset with generous paid leave.

Ongoing Clinical Development: Access our industry-leading training programme and continual learning support.

Flexible Benefits Package: Tailor your benefits with options like life insurance, plus high-street discounts.

Medical Reimbursement: Claim back costs for optical and dental visits.

Wellbeing Support: Access an extensive library of resources, employee assistance, and mental health support.

Beautiful Working Environment: Thrive in a purpose-built, therapeutic setting designed to support both learners and clinicians.

What You Will Do

* Deliver targeted occupational therapy assessments and interventions tailored to young people with complex emotional and sensory needs.
* Collaborate closely with residential and education staff to embed therapeutic strategies into daily routines and environments.
* Work within a multi-disciplinary clinical team, supporting integrated care across all aspects of school and home life.
* Design and deliver staff workshops and consultations, enhancing their knowledge and ability to support therapeutic outcomes.
* Monitor progress and contribute to personalised care and education plans in partnership with families, educators, and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For

* HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience in working with children and young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD, and/or trauma backgrounds.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a reflective, proactive approach to service delivery.
* Ability to conduct assessments and implement interventions within both 1:1 and group settings.
* A passion for inclusive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practices.
* Experience in working within residential care or educational settings (preferred but not essential).
* Must be comfortable working across both Heighinton sites as required.

Why Heighinton?

Heighinton is a picturesque village celebrated for its charm, community spirit, and green open spaces. It offers a peaceful and inspiring place to work, with easy access to larger urban centres when needed. Whether you’re local or relocating, you’ll enjoy an exceptional quality of life both inside and outside of work.
