Our Business Support Team is the first point of contact for customers and provides vital technical and administrative support across Planning, Building Control, Land Charges, and Regulatory Services. By ensuring our systems and processes run smoothly, you'll play an important role in helping the Council meet its statutory obligations while supporting safe, sustainable, and vibrant communities.
As a Business Support Officer, you will be the first point of contact for residents, businesses, and customers, responding to queries via phone and email. You'll handle requests, applications, and complaints with professionalism and accuracy, while providing clear advice and support. Building positive working relationships with officers across the services we support will be key, ensuring that queries are dealt with effectively at first contact.
You'll also take responsibility for keeping records and correspondence accurate and up to date, providing a wide range of administrative support, and managing tasks such as raising invoices, processing purchase orders, reconciliation, and goods receipting.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are friendly, polite, and professional, with the ability to manage a varied workload and adapt to different challenges each day. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach are essential, along with a willingness to build knowledge across multiple service areas.
