Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teacher: Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to meet individual needs. Use restorative, trauma-informed approaches to behaviour. Support pupils with SEMH needs, ensuring emotional regulation and wellbeing. Work collaboratively with support staff, SEN teams, and external agencies. Build positive, trusting relationships with young people. Track progress and contribute to personalised learning plans. Ideal SEN Teacher Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience in SEN, SEMH, or alternative provision (strongly preferred). Calm, patient, and resilient with a nurturing approach. Skilled in adapting lessons to different ability levels. Confident with behaviour management and therapeutic approaches. Passionate about helping young people re-engage in education.
