The Role
Junior Project Manager - Highways Technology
The Assignment
As a Junior Project Manager, you will oversee and manage Highways technology projects across various areas of the UK from our client's office in Preston. You will work closely with the Contracts Manager and the rest of the technology team to lead the project from inception to completion, ensuring all works are completed to specification, within budget, and on time.
Responsibilities
* Manage current contracts
* Review H&S paperwork
* Identify engineering discrepancies
* Plan and oversee all aspects of a project
* Plan and schedule project timelines
* Carry out method statements and risk assessments
* Manage project administration, including site documentation
* Meet budgetary objectives
* Report regularly to senior management
* Track project performance
* Organize resources (labour, plant, materials, sub-contractors) on each site
* Ensure plant & machinery are suitable for works
* Supervise performance of Supervisors and Foremen
* Coach and support new starters
* Organize training for employees in necessary skills
* Ensure only trained personnel undertake activities
* Close out Health & Safety Files
Qualifications/Experience
* HND / HNC qualified or equivalent (Civil Engineering or similar)
* CSCS Gold Card essential
* SSSTS or SMSTS essential
* Proficient with MS Project
* Proficient with Excel
