Job Role: Maintenance Engineer
Hours: Monday to Friday 7.30am-3.30pm
Salary: £32,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum DOE

gap personnel acting as an employment business are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a manufacturing business, based in Bristol, BS15. Responsibilities:
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production equipment
Respond promptly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and implementing effective repairs to minimise production downtime
Record all maintenance activities accurately within the maintenance management system
Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Carry out basic electrical fault-finding and repairs (e.g. motors, sensors, switches, control panels) within competency limits.
Support installation, commissioning, and modification of machinery and equipment.
Identify recurring faults and recommend permanent corrective actions.
Contribute to equipment reliability improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
Support lean manufacturing and 5S activities within the engineering and production areas.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
Basic electrical knowledge and fault diagnosis.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.
