This post is for a Band 7 Clinical Educator for Snow Leopard including Long Term Ventilation.
Our nursing team consists of registered nurses and senior nursing assistants. All of these groups are very keen to further develop their skills and knowledge in order to provide high quality of care to our patients.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and enthusiastic nurse who has passion and experience in education and further development of training programes within our services of Long Term Ventilation, within our respiratory service.
We are proud of the care we provide to those children with long term ventilation needs in Snow Leopard and the wider hospital.
The role of clinical educator will be to continue facilitation of relevant training, reviewing the education gap analysis, and have some experience and understanding of the conditions for our services. Experience of ventilation and non invasive ventilation would be welcome.
We will welcome you in our team, and you will work closely with our Evelina Education Team, who will also support you greatly.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a source of highly specialist clinical and educational knowledge and will provide clinical supervision.
You will be responsible for the development and co-ordination of training programmes especially those relating to long term ventilation for staff in conjunction with Evelina Education Team.
You will work closely with Ward Sister and Matron to ensure training programes are established to train staff and meet statutory training requirements, as well as individual service training needs and personal development.
We have a number of newly qualified nurses, and you will tailor a programme of orientation for new staff members and arrange an ongoing programme of training for qualified and unqualified staff, working closely with other wards within the CRIC directorate as part of the ongoing integration.
Previous experience in clinical education is highly recommended.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will need to lead and take continuing responsibility for the in-service development of all nursing staff working within the area of specialty of ventilation.
To provide leadership and motivation to establish clinical practices, which is research/evidence-based and lead to standard setting and regular audit in line with the Trust’s commitment to Clinical Governance.
To monitor and review clinical and professional standards of care, reporting on performance, and instituting remedial action where necessary.
The post holder will need to be confident working with multidisciplinary health professionals both face to face and via virtual platforms.
