About the role
We are recruiting for an RD&A Technologist to work alongside the Taste Fermentation RD&A team in Menstrie, Scotland. You will support R&D projects aiming to develop new products and improve current production processes. Activities include bench-scale reactions and fermentations, testing new concepts with analytical instruments, and implementing new methods and processes.
Key responsibilities
* Process and report experimental results, playing a key role in reporting to project stakeholders.
* Participate in project meetings and reviews, providing feedback and insights.
* Maintain lab operations, including maintenance, hygiene, consumables, procedures, and QSHE, and assist in selecting/commissioning new equipment.
* Support administrative work supporting R&D activities.
* Contribute ideas for new product development and process improvements.
* Execute experiments to advance technical knowledge and support decision-making.
* Report experiments technically, ensuring timely project delivery and documentation for technology transfers.
* Support administrative tasks related to R&D activities.
* Manage and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
Qualifications and skills
* BSc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field.
* Experience in microbial fermentation in industrial or academic settings.
* Experience with biological and analytical techniques (biochemical assays, HPLC, etc.).
* Proficiency in microbiology lab practices and aseptic techniques.
* Ability to write technical documents such as research reports and SOPs; proficiency with Excel or similar software is desirable.
* Experience with pilot-scale facilities or production environments is a plus.
* Experience in scaling-up and transferring technologies to manufacturing is a plus.
* Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural environments.
