An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Careers and Progression Advisors to join a dynamic and supportive team. We have both full-time and term-time only positions available, with roles based across multiple campuses. We are seeking enthusiastic, student-focused individuals who are passionate about guiding learners towards their future goals. If you are resilient, able to build positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and committed to maintaining a student-centred approach, we welcome your application. You will play a vital role in helping students make informed decisions about their next steps, whether that's university, apprenticeships, employment, or further training. From delivering engaging group sessions on topics such as CV writing and the UCAS process to providing one-to-one careers guidance, you will ensure every student has access to high-quality, impartial support tailored to their individual needs. Successful candidates should hold, be working towards, or be willing to work towards a recognised qualification in careers guidance (e.g. Level 3 or 4 in Careers Guidance and Development or equivalent). Experience of working with young people in an educational setting and knowledge of careers education frameworks such as the Gatsby Benchmarks or Matrix Standard would be highly advantageous. You will be supported by a high-performing team and will work closely with colleagues across curriculum areas, as well as with employers, universities, and community partners to bring careers education to life. Training and development opportunities are embedded in the organisation's culture, and you will be encouraged to grow your skills and innovate in your delivery. These roles are full-time at 37 hours per week. Main Purpose of the Job To inspire and equip learners with the knowledge and skills they need to gain a competitive edge, enabling them to progress into meaningful employment or further study. The post holder will work collaboratively across departments and with new and existing employers, education providers, and other stakeholders to meet national, regional, and local skills needs. The role involves providing high-quality, impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) to support both current and prospective learners. All students should be able to access CEIAG through a variety of opportunities and delivery modes offered by the institution and through partnerships with universities, employers, and the voluntary sector. In addition, the organisation works with independent partners to ensure students can access impartial CEIAG from external sources. The post holder will be based primarily across multiple campuses, with occasional travel to other sites as required. Duties and Responsibilities Inspire learners to achieve their aspirations through various activities such as delivering group sessions on topics including CV writing, interview skills, the UCAS process, and alternative pathways such as apprenticeships. Support learners in preparing for the world of work through engaging workshops and one-to-one careers advice and guidance sessions. Ensure individuals understand the range of career routes available to them and how to access relevant information to make informed decisions. Maintain accurate records and individual student action plans within organisational systems.
