We are currently working with a Manufacturing company who are looking to add a Toolmaker onsite. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues related to high-speed, multistage progressive stamping tools. You will work closely with New Product Introduction (NPI) and design teams to ensure the optimum design and ongoing performance of all progressive stamp tooling. Key Responsibilities: * Diagnose and resolve issues related to piercing and forming in multistage progressive stamping tools promptly. * Collaborate with NPI and tool design teams to ensure new tooling is feasible, effective, and optimised for production. * Maintain the highest standards of workmanship at all times. * Respond swiftly and effectively to urgent tooling issues, without compromising quality. * Liaise with production management to provide accurate updates on tooling condition and status. * Ensure that vital and consumable tooling spares are adequately stocked and maintained. * Work with the tool design team on drawing creation, revisions, and tooling improvements. * Identify, analyse, and implement corrective actions to tooling problems affecting production timelines or quality. * Where temporary fixes are necessary, plan and document permanent solutions in preparation for future production runs. * Support quality teams by providing input for 8D investigations and internal quality concerns. * Coach, train, and support apprentices and junior toolmakers. * Demonstrate flexibility, especially during shift changes or unplanned issues. Skills & Experiences: * Strong problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary environment * Exceptional attention to detail * Effective communication and interpersonal abilities * Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team * High levels of self-motivation and ownership * Good coordination and manual dexterity * Proficient in basic computer tasks, including MS Word and Excel * Ideally a Minimum 5 years’ experience with high-speed, multistage progressive stamping tools * Experience in tool design collaboration and tooling optimisation would be an advantage * Experience in coaching or mentoring junior team members is a plus
