Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Care Worker / Team Leader to provide compassionate support and guidance to children and young people in a residential setting. The role involves leading a team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents, and fostering a nurturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing care plans, maintaining effective communication with colleagues and families, and promoting positive behavioural development. Duties
* Supervise and support children and young people in their daily routines, ensuring their safety and emotional well-being.
* Lead and motivate a team of care staff, organising shift rotas and delegating responsibilities effectively.
* Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
* Foster positive relationships with residents, encouraging independence and personal growth.
* Maintain accurate records of residents' progress, incidents, and care activities in accordance with organisational policies.
* Facilitate engaging activities that promote social skills, education, and recreational interests.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the residential environment.
* Communicate regularly with families, social workers, and external agencies to support residents' needs.
* Participate in staff training programmes to enhance professional development.
Skills
* Experience working with children or young people in a care or educational setting.
* Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, colleagues, families, and external professionals.
* Ability to lead a team confidently whilst maintaining a supportive approach.
* Good organisational skills for managing care plans, schedules, and documentation accurately.
* Driving licence preferred for supporting residents' outings or appointments.
* Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting purposes.
* Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with residents.
