LocumAllergy Consultant Dermatologist
Weare looking for an individual to fill this locum post within the DermatologyDepartment at Chapel Allerton.
Thisis an exciting opportunity to join our team within the Leeds Centre ofDermatology, which offers a successful candidate to join a dynamic andinnovative Allergy and Cutaneous Dermatology team. The post-holder will help tosupport the general dermatology service and skin cancer service, specifically:
Contributing to and enhancing theprovision of the allergy dermatology service
Enhancing the current provision of rapidaccess diagnostic skin cancer clinics and enhancing the current provision ofskin cancer surgery
Contributing to the current provisionfor general dermatology services
Thesuccessful applicant should possess MRCP (or equivalent) and should be includedon the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview,if currently within a training programme within the UK. In accordance with the consultant appointmentregulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
Main duties of the job
Thispost, within the Leeds Centre for Dermatology, principally based at ChapelAllerton Hospital, offers the successful candidate the opportunity to join adynamic and innovative Dermatology team with the opportunity to develop astimulating combination of clinical, teaching and research work.
TheLeeds Centre for Dermatology is a tertiary referral centre and a centre ofexcellence for cutaneous allergy. The Cutaneous Allergy service is currentlyrun by two Consultants and one registrar on rotation as well as a substantialnursing team and sees over a 1000 new patients a year. There are also plans toestablish a post CCT fellowship post in cutaneous allergy, which will complywith the British Society for Cutaneous Allergy post-CCT curriculum and therequirements of the Joint Royal College of Physicians Training Board forAdvanced Training in Cutaneous Allergy.

This post, within theLeeds Centre for Dermatology, principally based at Chapel Allerton Hospital,
offers the successfulcandidate the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative skin
cancer team as wellas the opportunity to develop a stimulating combination of clinical, teaching
and research work inthe field of cutaneous oncology. Leeds is a world recognised centre for the
management of skincancer and offers all the skin cancer treatment modalities locally.
The unit hosts theRegional Specialist MDT for Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer, Melanoma and
Cutaneous Lymphoma.There are also close working relationships with the Head and Neck MDT
and the Sarcoma MDT.
The post holder willbe a member of the Local Skin Cancer MDT and Regional Specialist
Non Melanoma SkinCancer MDT and will be involved in the management
of melanoma and non-melanomaskin cancer (there is a separate Melanoma MDT
for melanoma Stage1b).
The Skin Cancer Team includesDermatologists, Mohs Surgeons, Plastic Surgeons,
Clinical Oncologists,Dermatopathologists, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Nurse Practitioners
and an MDTCoordinator.
