The Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Specialist who will report directly to the Asset Manager and take a leading role in driving environmental protection, monitoring and governance activities across the oil movement production unit, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, company standards and commercial objectives for emissions to air, land and water.
This role will champion the enhancement of the oil movement production unit’s environmental assets by developing, securing approval for and implementing robust environmental asset life plans.
The position will also provide essential support to the energy recovery plant, contributing to both day‑to‑day operational needs and longer‑term improvement planning.
Primary Accountabilities
* Monitor environmental asset performance to ensure effluent handling and emissions comply with permits and legislation
* Provide governance of the Oil Movement production unit environmental performance, manage budgets and KPIs, and drive emissions reduction and optimisation across all areas
* Support Energy Recovery Plant operations to maximise throughput, minimise waste and emissions, and identify short‑to‑long‑term improvement opportunities
* Track Energy Recovery Plant emissions, identify trends, prevent exceedances and strengthen operational reliability through process optimisation and MoC input
* Review and update procedures and documentation to support safe, compliant operations
* Support digitalisation efforts by identifying and implementing suitable digital solutions
* Participate in Turnaround events, maintain required site signatories and support the Duty Rota
About You
Our ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree or possess substantial operational experience, such as an HNC.
A strong background in refinery or manufacturing operations is essential, with technical knowledge of environmental and operational principles, business processes and systems, alongside experience within oil refining or petrochemical environments.
The role requires demonstrable experience working on an Upper Tier COMAH site and a history of leading effective problem resolution. Candidates should bring excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, be confident using specialist software applications, and excel in cross‑functional teamwork. The ability to build strong working relationships across multiple areas is key to success in this role.
You must be able to fulfil the role of Permit Verifier (Operations) within the Permit to Work system or be progressing toward this role. The role will also require you to join an on‑call duty rota system.
