Overview
Poole Hospital Endoscopy Unit offers a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures across three procedure rooms, with additional sites at Royal Bournemouth Hospital (3 rooms) and Wimborne (1 room). Services include upper and lower GI procedures, respiratory procedures such as bronchoscopy, EBUS, and thoracoscopy, as well as complex interventions such as Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). The unit also participates in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
Responsibilities
* Perform a wide range of endoscopic procedures in an acute setting.
* Support multidisciplinary care, working alongside Nurse Endoscopists, Gastroenterology Consultants, Colorectal/Upper GI Surgical Consultants, and nursing & HCSW teams.
* Maintain high standards of patient‑centred care and excellent communication with patients and colleagues.
* Engage in ongoing personal development and competency assessment.
Qualifications
* Minimum 12 months’ experience in an acute clinical environment.
* Active UK NMC registration required.
* Previous endoscopy experience is advantageous but not essential; the post provides training and competency assessment.
* Strong commitment to patient‐centred care, flexibility, and continuous learning.
* Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability.
