We are delighted to invite applications for a Fixed Term Specialty Doctor in Cardiology to join our friendly team at Barnsley Hospital for 12 Months to cover Maternity Leave.
We are looking for someone with excellent clinical skills, team spirit and commitment to high standards of patient care, previous experience in Cardiology is essential.
Main duties of the job
Youwill provide specialist cardiology care to inpatients and outpatients.Participate in wards rounds, outpatients clinics and multi-disciplinary teammeetings. Supporting the management of acute cardiac cases, includinginvolvement in coronary care. You will assist with diagnostic procedures suchas echocardiography, stress testing depending on experience and service needs.
Youwill contribute to the training and supervision of junior doctors and medicalstudents. Engage in quality improvement projects, clinical governance andservice development initiatives.
Youwill work within a supportive team, gain hands on experience in a well-equippedcardiology department.

Person Specification
Teaching and Research
* Ability to teach clinical skills.
* Experience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduates and postgraduates.
Skills & Attributes
* Honesty and Reliability.

* Caring attitude to patients.
* Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, GPs, Nurse and other agencies.
* Commitment to Continuing Medical Education
Experience
* Demonstrate that they have a minimum of four years (FTE or equivalent) of which at least 2 years training must be in the relevant specialty training or equivalent.
* Broad experience of General Medicine.
* Ability to take responsibility for clinical care of patients.
* Experience of management of lung cancer patients.
* Experience of echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and temporary pacing
Qualifications
* Fully registered with the GMC with a License to practice
* MBBS or equivalent
* MRCP (including PACES) or equivalent
