Description
Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Type: Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)
Salary: £12.60 per hour (£24,638 per annum) plus benefits including Health Cash Plan
About the Role:
We are looking for a compassionate Support Worker to join our team, supporting customers with complex mental health needs to develop skills for independent living. You will make a positive impact daily by helping customers achieve their goals and aspirations.
Responsibilities:
* Assist customers with practical daily tasks to promote independence, including making meals, shopping, budgeting, and maintaining tenancies.
* Support customers in moving to independent accommodation if suitable.
* Conduct risk assessments, support planning, goal setting, and reviews.
* Build rapport through conversations and support, ensuring personalized care.
Who You Are:
* Passionate about supporting others to live their best lives.
* Experience caring for others, either professionally or personally.
* Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and be resilient.
* Flexible and attentive to individual customer needs.
* Must have a vehicle insured for business purposes; mileage costs are reimbursed.
Additional Details:
* Working hours: 37.5 hours/week, shifts between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday.
* Flexibility required to meet customer needs.
* Proficiency with technology for updating support plans and online learning.
* Enhanced DBS check required; paid for by us.
