Our People Operations team
The People Operations team supports and enables everyone in FreeAgent to focus on doing their best work, through the delivery of exceptional service across our 3 sub-teams: the People team, Talent team and Front Office team. We're on the lookout for a generalist People Consultant to join our friendly and supportive People team. As a People Consultant, you'll enjoy variety, ongoing development, and have a chance to influence a variety of strategic people focused projects. To be successful in this position you'll have had experience in a similar HR role at a junior or mid level, and be able to demonstrate your ability to advise managers on various people topics.
You'll be:
owning key people processes: managing a range of employee lifecycle processes from end to end
delivering advisory and ER support: guiding managers and employees through policies and procedures, performance and absence management, and first-stage case resolution
driving projects and continuous improvement: owning small projects from start to finish, contributing to larger team initiatives, and using feedback to sharpen our processes
keeping on top of the day-to-day activities that keep the people function running, including:
facilitating inductions, exit interviews, and surveys
managing internal communications, share schemes, and ad hoc reporting requests
supporting reward processes and wider team activities
You
You'll enjoy variety in your role and be comfortable managing projects alongside day to day work and ad-hoc requests. Self driven, you'll take full ownership of work, taking action to overcome any barriers to delivery. You'll enjoy working with and supporting people, with a warm, engaging and inclusive approach to all that you do.
Ideally you'll have:
CIPD Level 5 qualification in Human Resource Management (or equivalent experience)
Experience advising managers on people issues or policies
Knowledge and experience administering various employee lifecycle processes
High level of computer literacy and ability to pick up new systems quickly
Bonus points for
Employee relations case management experience
Previous experience in a People Consultant position
CIPD level 7 qualification in Human Resource Management

Work pattern for this role
This is a permanent, full time role (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
This role will be based in our Edinburgh office, however there will be an opportunity to adopt hybrid working, under an agreed pattern of 2 days from the office and 3 days at home each week. Working from home is second nature to us as we have been championing remote working for years.
Perks
The salary band for this role is £28,000 - £34,000 per annum.
We're open to hiring someone at the Junior People Consultant or People Consultant level for this role, so the actual salary offered will depend on experience.
