How you'll make a differenceAs Site Supervisor, you will manage the day-day operations of Mangotsfield Transfer Station HWRC, making sure that staff and resources are efficiently deployed, processes and compliance are met and a high level of service is provided to customers. What you will be doingYou will be responsible for supervising and running site operations, ensuring full compliance is met. Overseeing the efficient deployment of staff and resources, you will work closely with members of your team to maintain a high level of service for customers. Supervising and managing personnel and mobile plant, you will lead on quality monitoring and embed processes that support continual improvement and successful delivery. Within the team, it will be your responsibility to manage staff absence, leave, staff development and the collation of staff working hours for payroll purposes. What we need from youWe require you to have a thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to waste management, COSHH, RIDDOR and environmental permits and have experience of incident reporting and investigations. It is essential that you have experience in daily site operations, including site cleanliness, signage and traffic flow with a proven ability to identify operational issues and implement effective solutions.You will have relevant experience of managing a team within waste operations, as well as managing rotas, performance and staff training and have the ability to lead and motivate a team, giving advice and guidance on the correct course of action. Given the nature of the role, you must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently with people at all levels, as well as being able to resolve conflict and manage difficult situations calmly. It would be desirable for you to hold a relevant waste transfer qualification such as COTC. What you need to knowYour working pattern will be 08:00 - 1630, Monday to Friday.
