Job Summary: The Nursery Room Leader is responsible for leading a specific room within the nursery, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare and early years education.
This role involves planning and implementing activities that support children’s development, supervising staff within the room, and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the assigned room.
Plan, implement, and monitor age-appropriate learning and play activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Support and mentor room staff, providing guidance and coaching where needed.
Maintain accurate records of children’s development, observations, and progress.
Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in the room.
Promote positive behaviour and provide consistent guidance and support.
Liaise with parents and carers to share updates and progress on their child.
Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance and preparing for inspections (e.g., Ofsted).
Collaborate with other room leaders and management to ensure a cohesive nursery environment.
Requirements / Qualifications: Level 3 or above qualification in childcare or early years education.
Proven experience in a childcare setting, preferably with leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding regulations.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and support a team.
First Aid and safeguarding training desirable.
