My client is a genuine leader and multi award winner in their respective sector. Well established over many years of trading, with an expanding team.
Due to significant recent project success they urgently seek a new QHSE Engineer to join their existing team in Great Yarmouth (however there is potential for the role to be based out of their Norwich offices with frequent travel/MS Teams interactions with the Great Yarmouth offices.
Supplying into the marine industry sectors, their product range is huge and varied. Having invested heavily in R&D and emerging markets, they are now entering an exciting growth and scale-up phase to meet newly secured demand. As part of this expansion, we are seeking a QHSE Engineer to strengthen their commitment to quality, safety, and operational excellence.
Important:
* Please note this role will require you to travel overseas, approx. 15-20% of your time per annum. The travel will involve such locations as China, West Affrica, and Dubai.
* Our client is looking for professional with a strong focus on Quality Control, first and foremost. (60% -70% of the role). It is essential candidates possess strong experience in this area.
Key Responsibilities:
Improve and promote safety across all sites
Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards related to health, safety, and environmental practises.
Maintain compliance with all relevant HSE legislation and standards.
Lead audits, inspections, and risk assessments, driving continuous improvement.
Oversee ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems, documentation, and KPIs.
Lead/support project improvement activity (i.e. against Cost of Quality, Audit findings, Quality related performance issues).
Manage COSHH assessments, safety walk-throughs, and emergency procedures.
Operate in support of the business from a customer perspective.
Investigate incidents and near misses using root cause analysis.
Deliver QHSE support and advice to Projects.
Champion sustainability and Net Zero initiatives.
Chair Health & Safety Committee meetings and communicate results across the business.
Lead the implementation and integration with ISO 9001 QMS.
Support the continued development and implementation of the Quality Management System.
Conduct inspections, witness testing and liaising with suppliers.
Maintain and continually improve existing quality management systems.
Manage internal and third-party audits, ensuring corrective actions are delivered.
Develop documentation, process plans, and procedures to meet compliance standards.
Monitor and report key Quality KPIs (scrap, rework, complaints, audit findings).
Oversee supplier quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilitate Management Reviews and drive best practice across all operations
Support the Company in the preparation of bids and quotations ensuring that QHSE aspects are addressed.
Assist in Client visit/technical presentations as required.
About You:
* H&S qualification (IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH) is Desirable
* Good understanding of either ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 systems.
* Holding and leading meetings.
* Competent IT skills (MS Office, document control systems, etc.).
* Experience of successful client facing interactions.
* Approx 5 years project experience in a similar role.
Desirable skills:
* Preferred HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering.
* Recognised auditor qualification.
* Recognised OHSE qualification.
* Relevant industry qualification / internal certificate gained relating to the offshore environment.
