Design Manager (MOBs)
Location: St Mary Cray, with travel throughout SGN’s Southern and Scotland Networks for site inspections and meetings.
Reporting to the Network Planning Manager within the Network Planning and Design department (Risk Management).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
* Managing a team of designers
* Production, appraisal and approval of standard and complex designs for various gas supply types to domestic and commercial MOBs
* Producing technical reports
* Ensuring designs are compliant with relevant legislation and technical standards
* Working with operational teams on application of designs
* Managing design variations on projects
* Continual development of design processes and documentation
* Collaborating with the Building Safety Regulator, Local Authorities and other 3rd parties on planning and approval of designs
* Providing technical support on MOBs as needed within SGN
* Supporting the wider Network Management team with other tasks when required
Qualifications
* Qualified Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or working towards this
* Previous experience in Engineering Design
* Experience of managing staff (preferred)
* History of successfully delivering projects, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong technical knowledge and understanding of the gas network
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
* Highly motivated with a flexible approach
* Ability to respond and adapt quickly to change and meet tight deadlines
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel around the UK
