You will be a key contributor in planning daily operations for our successful haulier, Churchill Freight Services Ltd
Based at Chichester, working at our modern new offices where you will be planning and routing bulk vehicles, working closely with colleagues, drivers, our partners and customers.
This is a dynamic and busy role in a fast-paced environment where we are always working to exceed our customers' expectations by delivering a first-class transport Services.
Main Duties:
* Route Bulk Trucks using all available vehicles and Drivers.
* Plan jobs and vehicles in an efficient manner to maximise profits.
* Plan and coordinate with the key trading departments in the business, for example Grain, Seed and fertiliser departments. In particular, working closely with the Grain department to plan their requirements for the movement of farmer's grain.
* Undertake to understand running costs and how these are calculated.
* Manage assets to cope with the peaks and troughs of the business to maximise our potential.
* Update our internal planning system with trailer allocations providing a daily update of tailers to units.
About You:
You will need to be experienced within a similar role and have worked as a planner within a haulage company with 2 years of planning experience.
Experience of MS 365 would be advantageous, otherwise be familiar with MS Office including Excel and comfortable with inputting data and using transport planning/software systems.
Able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical skills to be able to make good reasoned decisions
Good communications skills, telephone manner and a professional approach
Knowledge of traffic regulations and transport laws & ideally you will hold a UK driver license
Secondary education, with numerical reasoning skills.
