Job Description Join Marie Curie as a Healthcare Assistant in East Kent and make a real difference to people living with a terminal illness in their own homes. This is a rewarding community-based role where you will deliver compassionate, person-centred care at night and help patients and families feel supported, safe and dignified when it matters most. Working as part of our multidisciplinary community team, you will provide high-quality care tailored to each person’s needs. This includes personal care, skin care and hygiene, support with nutrition and hydration, comfort and sleep, mobility, and helping to maintain a safe and respectful care environment in line with individual care plans. You will build trusted relationships with patients and those important to them, working with sensitivity, professionalism and compassion. Contract: Permanent Schedule: 27 hours per week, distributed over three shifts; Monday to Saturday Shift hours: 10:00pm – 7:00am Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, Band 2 (AFC-aligned): £12.92 per hour, plus a generous 41% uplift as a night shift enhancement. Location: Community-Based – Canterbury What we are looking for Experience providing hands-on care in a health or social care setting, ideally including end-of-life or community-based care. A compassionate, person-centred approach and the ability to support patients and families with dignity and empathy. Confidence working independently during night shifts while also contributing positively to a wider multidisciplinary team. Good communication skills, emotional resilience, and a calm, professional approach in sensitive situations. NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable, but not essential. A valid driving license and access to a car are essential, as you will travel to patients’ homes across the community.
