Personal assistant required for lady in Aylsham
Job Purpose: An opportunity as a personal assistant has become available to support a lady who lives with a physical disability and mental health issues in Aylsham with day‑to‑day tasks.
Location: Aylsham, NR11
Key Responsibilities:
* Light housework – washing up, hoovering, ironing, hanging washing out, and any other tasks that are deemed necessary at that time.
* Meal preparation – support with cooking evening meals and baking.
* Leisure activities – visit charity shops as part of the lady’s therapy.
* Occasional appointments – take the lady to and from appointments.
* Occasional overnight stay when the appointed person is not available.
* Medication support – be shown how to administer her medication in rare circumstances when the lady’s partner is not available.
Person specification:
* Similar interests: charity shops, crafts, crochet, baking, sewing.
* Motivational, patient, recognises mental health conditions, flexible, responds quickly and effectively to unexpected situations, thinks outside the box, friendly, outgoing, cat friendly, recognises characteristics of a regimented person.
Summary terms and conditions:
* Rate of pay: £12.38 per hour.
* Hours and times of work: 3 days a week for 5 hours each day. Flexible.
* Other duties will be discussed if/when deemed appropriate but everything that will be expected will be explained prior to acceptance of the position.
* Annual holiday entitlement: equivalent to the work normally expected in 5.6 consecutive weeks.
* Access to free training for employed workers. If this job requires manual handling, handling of hazardous chemicals and/or food handling you will be required to undertake annual training.
* Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the employer).
* Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
* Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
