Nursery Deputy Manager
Hours: Full-time, all year round (Monday to Friday, between 8:00am – 6:00pm)
Starting Pay: £13.37 per hour (with the potential to increase after six months and in line with National Minimum Wage updates)
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is ready to step into a leadership role and help shape the future of our nursery.
The Deputy Manager will support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of care and education, and leading a motivated, professional team. In the Manager's absence, the Deputy Manager will take full responsibility for the smooth running of the nursery.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Manager in leading, motivating, and guiding the nursery team.
* Ensure the provision of a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children aged 2–5.
* Build strong, positive relationships with parents, keeping them informed and involved in their child's development.
* Oversee nursery organisation, admissions, and staff deployment.
* Promote and deliver the EYFS curriculum, embedding best practice throughout the setting.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and all statutory requirements.
* Identify and support staff training and development needs.
* Take full responsibility for the nursery in the Manager's absence, including staffing, organisation, and financial systems.
About You
* Proven experience in a childcare setting with leadership or management responsibilities.
* Strong knowledge of early childhood education and EYFS principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience managing and developing staff teams effectively.
* Relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 or above is highly desirable).
* Warm, approachable, and passionate about providing high-quality childcare.
