Position Overview: The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing an assigned book of business by analyzing customers' needs, evaluating options, and offering tailored insurance solutions. The role involves building and maintaining relationships with existing customers and promoting the agency, primarily in commercial Property and Casualty insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Market, service, and promote the agency's products and services, developing and retaining customers strategically.
2. Manage a designated group of premier customers: analyze needs, answer questions regarding coverage, and recommend suitable products.
3. Proactively manage accounts before renewal dates to identify concerns, competition, exposure changes, and additional coverage needs.
4. Assist policyholders during renewal processes, educate on policy features, and re-market accounts as needed.
5. Develop and maintain strong knowledge of the marketplace and relationships with company representatives and underwriters; explore risk placement alternatives when necessary.
6. Prepare submissions, negotiate pricing and policy conditions, review quotations, and manage coverage binding within agency authority.
Secondary Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with producers and supervisors for feedback on market and customer conditions.
2. Handle customer inquiries regarding risks, coverage, claims, new business, and additional lines of coverage.
3. Ensure proper implementation of renewals, changes, endorsements, and audits for managed accounts.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Operate independently with minimal supervision, making decisions within agency constraints and legal regulations.
* Engage in daily communication with customers and carriers for information exchange, problem solving, quoting, and negotiations.
* Possess thorough technical knowledge of commercial insurance, including understanding of forms and risk management strategies.
* Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
* Education: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
* Experience: Insurance experience preferred.
* Licensure: Must possess or obtain a Property & Casualty insurance producer license.
* Continuing Education: As required by regulations.
