Job Description Location: UK-based | SC Clearance Required Citizenship: Sole UK Nationals only (due to project clearance requirements) Travel: Approx. 25% Relocation: Not available The Opportunity A high-growth defence & technology business is hiring a Business Development Executive to support opportunity generation and account growth across the national security and cyber markets. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, this is a key role supporting pipeline expansion and early-stage capture activities. You’ll work across existing frameworks and new opportunity areas, focusing on building and developing long-term customer relationships, shaping new pipeline, and contributing to strategic pursuits across a wide portfolio. You’ll be joining a team delivering complex digital transformation and secure technology projects for some of the UK’s most important missions. Key Responsibilities Support planning and execution of BD strategy across defence, security, and government accounts Build relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and key customer stakeholders Understand customer pain points, use cases, funding cycles, and future programme needs Coordinate internal teams and align with account managers to ensure consistent client engagement Manage opportunity data, reports, and pipeline tracking in CRM (Salesforce) Contribute to account reviews, growth plans and BD reporting activities Represent the business in early-stage discussions, events, and pre-bid positioning Help prioritise pipeline and shape pursuits in line with business goals What We’re Looking For Experience selling secure digital, cloud or software-led solutions into UK defence and/or government markets Strong understanding of customer environments such as MOD, Home Office, or national security bodies Confident building trusted relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders Exposure to bid/capture processes and cross-functional team collaboration High attention to detail and ability to manage workload effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be eligible for UK SC clearance — sole UK nationality required due to programme restrictions What’s On Offer Flexible and hybrid working (including compressed weeks — every other Friday off) Competitive salary, bonus, and private medical cover Opportunities for progression into capture or senior BD roles Work aligned to real-world national priorities, with long-term programme visibility Supportive team culture, collaborative BD environment, and strong brand reputation
