 
        
        1:1 Teaching Assistant (Autism Support) – Wigan, WN4
Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential to become permanent)
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications
A friendly and inclusive primary school in the WN4 area is seeking an experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with autism after October half-term.
Role Overview:
 * Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with autism, ensuring their learning, social, and emotional needs are met throughout the school day.
 * Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver structured and engaging learning activities tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.
 * Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour, focus, and independence.
 * Promote inclusion, ensuring the pupil can fully participate in classroom and wider school activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
 * An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
 * Experience supporting children with autism or other additional needs.
 * A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or relevant experience).
 * A calm, patient, and adaptable approach, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
 * Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a passion for helping children reach their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
