Are you looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a project worker to manage referrals, initial assessment and support with our new emotional wellbeing programme, Decider Life Skills service based in the Bradford district.

Youth in Mind: Connect (YiM Connect) is a new, VCSE-led partnership programme delivered by All Star Ents., Barnardo's, Bradford District & Craven Mind (BDC Mind), Brathay Trust, Family Action and Invictus Wellbeing, supporting children, young people and families (CYPF) across Bradford District with emerging emotional and social wellbeing needs. The programme is led by BDC Mind and funded by Bradford Children and Families Trust, and is trauma-informed, relational and rooted in communities. YiM Connect mainly delivers evidence-based group support, with targeted one-to-one input to support engagement and group readiness, helping children and families access the right help at the right time.

The service will provide group based support for children and young people and parents/ carers to learn and practice 12 specific skills based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) to help them manage emotions, build resilience, and improve their overall mental health.

You will be based in our Bradford office (Listerhills).

Some of the key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. You will support referral triage, complete Early Help Assessments, where appropriate, and connect CYPF to the right support at the right time, within YiM Connect or through wider services
2. To manage, process and triage referrals into the service providing initial assessments
3. Work flexibly across localities delivering triages and support groups to children young people across the Bradford district
4. To support delivery of the Decider Life Skills (an emotional wellbeing and resilience prevention programme) groups to children and young people and parents/ carers across the Bradford district
5. Collect and input data to monitor, record and evaluate the work undertaken.
6. Report any safeguarding concerns in line with Barnardo's safeguarding policy. To record safeguarding concerns in line with Barnardo's safeguarding policy.
7. Work collaboratively with partner agencies
8. Support participation initiatives e.g. young people's interview panels and peer support groups.

Essential Requirements to evidence in your application:

9. Must have experience of working with children and young people with emotional wellbeing challenges (please note, training to deliver this specific programme will be provided)
10. Must have a full driving license and access to a car as you will be expected to deliver the programme across the district.

Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31st March 2029 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band – this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours.
