Industry X – Digital Manufacturing & Operations: Automation Manager / Solution Architect
Accenture UK & Ireland is seeking a Digital Manufacturing & Operations Automation Manager / Solution Architect to design and implement solutions that integrate and automate strategy, technology, data and people, enabling process improvements for clients.

Opportunity
Work on digital transformation projects, delivering greenfield and brownfield factory/plant modernization programmes, focusing on manufacturing execution, factory automation and robotics, asset and equipment maintenance, connected worker, virtual/augmented reality, analytics, and industrial IoT.
Key Responsibilities
* Help clients target and deliver value through the digital transformation of their factory/plant/infrastructure operations.
* Shape, sell and deliver projects that create tangible value, including current state assessments, opportunities to increase efficiency, and technology‑enabled solutions.
* Design application technology solutions to enable future ways of working for business functions and processes.
* Use digital technologies to enable clients’ future‑state business capabilities and drive targeted business outcomes.
* Develop trust‑based relationships across all career levels and provide coaching and career development.
* Provide viewpoints on industry challenges and technology trends and present impetus for change.
* Drive development and refinement of offerings and generate collateral to support sales and origination activities.
* Support the sales process from origination to closing, including solution shaping, proposal preparation, and client presentations.
* Facilitate client innovation workshops and use a human‑centred approach to solve problems.
The Person
* Hands‑on process/technology practitioner with experience in discrete or process manufacturing environments.
* Strong analytical skills to assess strategy, vision, business imperatives and capabilities.
* Knowledge of application, technology and infrastructure components and design of end‑to‑end solutions.
* Experience in manufacturing operational challenges and emerging digital technologies.
* Understanding of security and integration in edge, on‑premise and cloud architectures.
* Ability to estimate technology costs and implementation effort.
Set Yourself Apart
* Robotics and Automation expertise.
* Experience with MES/MOM, enterprise asset management, plant automation (PLC, DCS, SCADA).
* Knowledge of IIoT platforms and connected machines and sensors.
* Experience in energy, utilities, chemicals, infrastructure, construction or manufacturing facilities such as consumer goods or aerospace & defence.
