BAM is looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Managing Quantity Surveyor to strengthen our team on the large civil engineering project, the Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2).
The EGL2 project is a joint venture with Hitachi Energy (HEBAM) and is a 5-year project involving the creation of a 525kV, 2GW high voltage direct current (HVDC) subsea transmission cable from Peterhead in Scotland to Drax in England. This will be the longest HVDC cable in the UK and the UK's largest transmission project, providing enough power for 2 million UK homes.

Your mission
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities include:
* Reporting to the Commercial Manager.
* Liaising with operations and support services teams.
* Managing a commercial team across multiple schemes.
* Overseeing commercial project management, including monthly cost reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, forecasts, application for payments, and change management.
* Mentoring members of the commercial team.
* Providing commercial input on project performance and strategy.
* Working with clients and stakeholders to achieve optimal commercial solutions.
* Ensuring compliance with project and company commercial procedures, including procurement and subcontract management.
* Providing commercial input during the pre-construction/tender phase.
* Managing ECI projects from a commercial perspective, including reviewing contract documents.
Who are we looking for?
Necessary:
* Experience managing a team across multiple projects.
* Experience with civil engineering schemes.
* Knowledge of NEC contracts.
* Understanding of contractual provisions for reviewing and drafting documents.
* Relevant degree or HNC/D qualification.
Advantageous:
* Experience with Early Contractor Involvement.
* Experience with target cost contracts.
* Client-facing collaborative attitude.
* Good communication skills.
* Professional qualifications (CICES/RICS).
