Contracts Manager – Groundworks
Location: Devon & Somerset

Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 DOE
We are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager with groundworks and civil engineering experience to join a long-standing regional contractor to manage their sites across Devon & Somerset.

The Role
1. Overall management of designated sites to ensure and maintain on-site health and safety, ensuring compliance and standards are always met.
2. Managing site teams, direct labour, and subcontractors.
3. Ensuring all plant and materials are fit for purpose.
4. Overseeing PPE and on-site HSE compliance.
5. Ensuring both short- and long-term programmes and planning are in place to deliver sites on time.
6. Liaising with internal and external Health & Safety consultants, advisors, and auditors, ensuring all duties and responsibilities are followed.
7. Regular liaison with the client on progress and attending meetings when required.
8. Ensuring timely delivery of sites while meeting and adhering to budgets.
9. Regular liaison with both commercial and technical teams.
10. Sourcing and recruiting site teams and labour, ensuring on-going training and HR matters are overseen and actioned.
Requirements
11. Experience at Contracts Manager level within groundworks – both housing and commercial considered.
12. Strong programming and planning ability.
13. Good level of health and safety management, RAMS, and COSHH – holding a relevant SMSTS ticket.
14. Commercial and financial understanding.
15. Full UK Driving Licence (sites will be across the region).
Salary is dependent on experience but is in the region of £65,000 – £75,000 + company vehicle or car allowance.
