As our SEO Strategy Team Lead, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and execution of SEO services across our client portfolio, and will play a crucial role in developing and expanding our Digital PR service. Working as a lieutenant to our Head of SEO, you'll own the development and implementation of the Visualsoft SEO strategies that deliver real growth across our client portfolio. This includes spearheading the evolution of our Digital PR capabilities, and leading a team of account directors as the head of our SEO strategy squad.
You'll play a pivotal role in advancing our SEO service offerings, including the strategic integration and growth of Digital PR, with the rollout of AI functionalities, establishing standardised frameworks, and ensuring integration across all search channels as we adapt to the future of Organic Search in the world of ecommerce.

Summary

You’ll work across the highest tier of our extensive client portfolio, leading our SEO strategy proposition across some of the UK’s biggest Ecommerce brands, working alongside our Head of SEO to deliver our revenue & growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
1. Develop and coordinate the execution of the Visualsoft SEO Strategy across our client portfolio, leading the optimisation of all search products (Google Organic, Local, Shopping, etc.)
2. Partner directly with the Head of SEO to shape the department's vision and objectives
3. Serve as the strategic authority on SEO for both internal teams and clients
4. Drive innovation in our search strategy to maintain a competitive advantage in the industry
5. Lead a team of SEO Strategists as a direct line manager including development, support, and training needs
6. Champion thought leadership by representing Visualsoft at industry events, supporting the Head of SEO through speaking opportunities, networking, and staying at the forefront of emerging search trends.
Digital PR Service Development
7. Lead the development and execution of a proactive Digital PR strategy, moving beyond reactive responses to build a market-leading service.
8. Develop and implement frameworks and processes for Digital PR campaign ideation, execution, outreach, and performance measurement.
9. Innovate and expand Digital PR service offerings, incorporating creative content strategies and relationship-building tactics to secure high-quality backlinks and brand mentions.
10. Collaborate with SEO, Content, and other teams to ensure Digital PR strategies are integrated and support wider client objectives.
11. Train and mentor team members on Digital PR best practices, tools, and techniques to build internal expertise.
12. Establish KPIs and reporting methodologies to effectively demonstrate the ROI of Digital PR activities to clients.
Framework Development
13. Create & implement standardised frameworks for strategic planning, research methodologies, and forecasting models, alongside the Head of SEO
14. Establish and refine reporting structures that effectively communicate SEO value and performance to our clients
15. Design scalable processes that balance efficiency with customisation for client needs, harnessing the advantages of of AI integration, and developing tools for the future of SEO
16. Lead the development of best practice guidelines across all SEO disciplines, helping to educate the VS OLM team on all aspects of of Organic Search
Service Enhancement
17. Spearhead the collaboration of strategic SEO and Digital PR service offerings, working alongside our Technical & Content teams to create a market-leading Organic Performance function
18. Identify opportunities to expand Digital PR and SEO capabilities and integrate with complementary channels
19. Develop methodologies for measuring and demonstrating SEO ROI
20. Contribute to new business development through thought leadership and strategic insights
21. Drive the growth and maturity of the Digital PR service, establishing proactive and sustainable strategies that build on current reactive methods
22. Identify and implement innovative approaches to Digital PR, including but not limited to, creative campaign development, influencer outreach, and building relationships with key media contacts
Role Duties
Client Portfolio Relationship
23. You’ll own the management of our Tier X client portfolio, including strategy coordination, client comms, reporting, meetings, and pitch activity.
Portfolio Retention
24. You’ll contribute to client retention targets alongside the Content & Tech SEO teams, reporting to the Head of SEO.
Maintain & Promote Highest Standards of SEO
25. Strategy is our UVP, our edge in the market; you'll uphold the highest standards in best practices, fundamentals, and implementation of our SEO and Digital PR strategy. This includes elevating our Digital PR service from foundational reactive tactics to sophisticated, proactive campaigns.
Develop & Grow Digital PR Service
26. You'll be responsible for architecting and implementing a strategy to mature and expand Visualsoft's Digital PR offerings. This will involve creating processes for proactive campaign development, journalist and influencer outreach, link building, and performance analysis, moving beyond the current reliance on reactive PR.
Client Happiness
27. Measured by Net Promoter Score (NPS), you’ll utilise your relationships and client outputs to ensure NPS is constantly high.
28. Client Satisfaction Surveys (CSAT) will be conducted at all available touch points; as our Strategy Lead, you’ll be responsible for generating the highest client satisfaction results.
29. When NPS or CSAT scores are not as desired, appropriate action must be taken leveraging your relationship and the work Visualsoft carries out.
Strive for Client Results
30. You’ll continuously lead innovation and change for the VS SEO Strategy, you’ll be agile to changes in the market, and you’ll work hard to implement a consistent approach across the SEO Strategy team.
31. You’ll take full ownership and accountability for your results, implementing change where required to improve, and making refinements to suit different needs when needed.
Control & Own SEO Strategy
32. You’ll lead the Visualsoft SEO Strategy team in an ever-changing world of organic search, managing a team of SEO strategists alongside the Head of SEO.
33. You’ll lead the standard on measuring & reporting for SEO, creating a robust forecasting and planning framework to demonstrate growth & potential from Organic Search.
34. You’ll lead on the development of strategic frameworks like OKR’s, Opportunity Modelling, Forecasting, SEO Sprints, RICE Roadmaps, and more.
35. You'll be our SEO and Digital PR strategy guru, leading on all external and internal communications for the VS SEO team, and championing the value and integration of Digital PR.
36. You'll own and manage a suite of SEO and Digital PR Tools to help us set objectives, achieve targets, and improve our service.
Requirements
37. Extensive, proven experience either agency or client side specialising in SEO
38. Extensive experience of SEO management
39. Proven expertise in external SEO platforms and tools, analytics, forecasting and measurement
40. Experience in building and executing SEO strategies and Digital PR Campaigns, whether in-house or for clients
41. Working to tight deadlines as a team and as an individual
42. Client-facing experience at a senior level
43. Client meeting experience and proven strategy presentation skills
44. Experience in ecommerce
Desirable
45. Ability to utilise APIs especially with Google Big Query
46. Advanced GA4 user with experience regarding tracking (common issues & troubleshooting)
47. CRO / UX Experience
48. Google platform competencies like Tag Manager, Data Studio, Local etc.
