Further information on the Council and our directorates The Role: This is an opportunity to be part of the Streetcare & Greenspace team which undertakes tasks contributing to the effective scheduled and reactive cleansing service helping to keep the City of Stoke-on[1]Tent Clean and safe for the residents and visitors in the City. To contribute, individually or as part of a team, to the delivery a high quality service as required and across a range of environmental or street cleansing related functions be enthusiastic and committed to the work and deliver services of the highest quality. To work flexibly and assist other team members in the delivery of a high quality cleaning operation. To strictly adhere to all relevant Health and Safety legislation and a create safe working environment. Full clean drivers licence required. Key Responsibilities: To contribute, individually and as part of a team to the delivery of a high quality, professional service with regard; but not limited to: • Graffiti removal • Garden tidy • Litter removal • Removal of discarded drug related equipment • Estate appearance • Upkeep of street furniture • Hand gritting of identified areas • Community liaison • Collection of bulky waste and electrical items • Delivery, exchange and collection of all types of waste receptacles • Collection and appropriate disposal of confidential and recycling waste • To remove fly tipped waste including hazardous waste in accordance with hazardous waste regulations and City Council policies and procedures, including discarded drug paraphernalia About You: To demonstrate a high degree of knowledge and awareness of the hazards and dangers of working on a public highway and the precautions needed to be taken. Able to use and communicate clearly over a mobile phone and follow instructions.
