About the Opportunity
Act as the main point-of-contact for all Quality matters for the Field Solutions for the AWE Line of Business and other Nuclear and non-nuclear sites within the surrounding area. Provide leadership and support to the JFS management team regarding the Quality function. Liaise and align with the Field Services Quality Manager to ensure consistency in approach to deliver quality systems, procedures, and processes at both framework and project levels, enabling business delivery of a quality service demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
* Ensure QA and QC compliance with legal requirements, client standards, European and British Standards, non-European standards, and project procedures.
* Manage Quality Engineers and Quality Inspectors to ensure pragmatic assurance of Quality across all project phases: Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning, considering commercial, schedule, and budget constraints.
* Resource Management - Ensure the Project Quality organization has the necessary skills, resources, and procedures.
* Manage Internal and External Audits, on and off site, according to the Project Audit Schedule.
* Oversee Supply Chain Quality, including pre-qualification assessments, audits, performance, and day-to-day management.
* Develop project-specific operating procedures with the Project Manager to interface effectively with the Client and partners.
* Monitor supplier and subcontractor selection and management systems as part of vendor assessment.
* Manage QC/Inspection at suppliers to verify goods meet order and specification requirements, preventing defective materials from reaching the site.
* Hold professional or academic qualifications related to Quality management, Construction, M&E welding/heavy fabrication.
* Membership of an appropriate Quality professional body (CQI preferred).
* Auditor trained (IRCA Lead preferred).
* Experience with relevant quality/environmental/occupational safety standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001, 45001, AQAP, AWE mandatory requirements). Knowledge of GS-R-3 standards for nuclear management systems.
* Experience in root cause analysis, learning, implementing preventative measures, and verifying their effectiveness.
* Implement risk-based QA/QC arrangements proportional to the assigned Quality Grade, linked to Nuclear Safety.
* Strong background in Fabrication, Welding, and NDE to standards like ASME and other nuclear specifications, including review of lifetime records for compliance.
* Experience in Nuclear Project delivery and construction.
* Moderate to extensive experience as a Quality Manager/Engineer.
