We are looking for someone who is passionate about working in insurance that is looking for a move into underwriting either an Assistant Underwriter stepping up to Underwriter level or someone with other insurance experience looking to branch out. This could be from broking, claims, or operations ready to take on a new challenge and grow into an underwriting role. You don’t need to be an expert yet, but you do need to be curious, proactive, and keen to learn.
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team working on Cargo & Freight risks. You’ll get hands-on experience with underwriting processes, help manage a portfolio of business, and build relationships with brokers and clients. It’s a great opportunity to develop your technical skills and gain exposure to a specialist line of business.
Key duties:
1. Supporting the team with underwriting cases across freight and cargo risks
2. Helping deliver business development plans with brokers and customers
3. Building strong working relationships across the business and externally
4. Taking ownership of your work and contributing ideas to make improvements
To be considered you must have Insurance experience with a genuine interest in underwriting and a desire to build a career in it. You must have good communication skills and a collaborative mindset. You will be well organised, eager to learn, and ready to get stuck in.
