Job Title: Planning & Procurement Apprentice
Location: Telford
Hours of Work: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Role Purpose
The Planning & Procurement Apprentice will support the Procurement and Buying teams with day-to-day purchasing, supplier coordination, and data management activities. This role provides hands-on experience across procurement, supply chain administration, supplier relationship management, and sustainability compliance, while working towards an accredited apprenticeship qualification.
Key Responsibilities
The apprentice will support the team with the following duties:
1. Assist with placing Purchase Orders (POs) with suppliers in line with business requirements
2. Update order confirmations and delivery information within procurement systems
3. Issue regular order and delivery status updates to internal stakeholders
4. Progress and follow up overdue Purchase Orders with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
5. Support the resolution of delivery discrepancies and supplier invoice queries
6. Obtain required supplier information to support sustainability, ethical sourcing, and compliance targets
7. Play an active role in building and maintaining positive relationships with suppliers
8. Raise non-stock purchase orders as required by the business
9. Coordinate data maintenance activities, including scanning, filing, and auditing procurement documentation
Provide general administrative support to the Buying team, including:
10. Requests for quotations (RFQs)
11. Pricing queries
12. Uploading and maintaining pricing information
13. Support sourcing activities and market research to help identify suppliers and cost-saving opportunities
14. Undertake ad hoc tasks and projects to support the wider Procurement and Supply Chain function

Knowledge & Experience
22. No previous procurement experience required
23. Interest in procurement, supply chain, business, or planning
24. GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (or working towards) desirable
