Special Education Teacher Vacancy

Location: Henry Tyndale School: Ship Lane CampusContract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Permanent/ Flexi Salary: Salary range MPR - UPS(£32,916 - £45,352) +SEN (£2,787 - £5,497) depending on experience and qualifications.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our vibrant and inclusive special school. Our pupils have diverse needs, including severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties (SLD/PMLD) and autism spectrum conditions (ASC). We believe every child deserves the right to an enriching, engaging, and personalised education.

Henry Tyndale School is a multi-campus, 'Outstanding' special school in Farnborough, Hampshire, catering to children and young people aged 2 -19 with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties, including ASD, SLD, and PMLD. With a highly supportive and collaborative team, we provide exceptional training and professional development to ensure our staff thrive in their roles. The Role:

· As a teacher, you will:

· Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.

· Work collaboratively with therapists, support staff, and families to enhance pupil learning.

· Foster an inclusive, safe, and nurturing learning environment.

· Assess and track pupil progress, celebrating small steps of achievement.

· Implement communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or AAC devices.

· Adapt creative teaching methods to engage pupils with complex needs.

About You:

· We are looking for someone with:

· A passion for teaching and learning, ensuring every pupil receives the right amount of challenge.

· A real commitment to working with our young people with severe and complex needs, collaborating with staff, parents, and professionals.

· Flexibility, creativity, enthusiasm, and energy to adapt and engage all learners.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering positive relationships across the school community.

· The ability to work independently while also being a motivator and inspirational leader for the class team.

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it (ECTs welcome).

· Experience working with children with SEND (preferred but not essential – training provided).
