SEN Teacher Specialist ASC & SEMH Provision Location: Derby Contract: Full time, Permanent Salary: MPS1 UPS (£32,916 £51,048) Closing Date: Thursday 14th May Start Date: September 2026 About the School A brand new, purpose?built specialist school for children and young people aged 419 in Derby, designed to provide exceptional education for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated communication differences. The schools mission is to create a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every learner can thrive academically, socially and emotionally. With high expectations and a strong academic focus, the school is committed to ensuring all pupils leave with meaningful GCSE qualifications and the confidence to succeed in their next steps. As the school continues to grow and expand its site, this is an exciting opportunity to join the founding team and play a pivotal role in shaping its ethos, culture and long?term success. The Role We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled Teachers across both primary and secondary phases who are passionate about making a difference for children with additional needs. This is a rewarding role where your impact will be visible every day, and you will see firsthand the progress and achievements your pupils make. Key Responsibilities Deliver a tailored, engaging curriculum that meets the individual needs of each learner. Use creative and inspiring teaching approaches to ignite curiosity and support meaningful progress. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists and support staff, to provide holistic education and care. Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that builds confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging. Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress, adapting your approach to ensure every child experiences success. What Were Looking For Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) Experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with ASC and SEMH needs. A flexible, creative and child?centred approach to teaching and learning. Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
