Description We have an excellent opportunity for a Support & Communication Engineer, based out of our Stanford le Hope office. This role supports the UK Head of IT in managing and maintaining the critical CCTV, Access Control, and Radio Communication systems that are essential to the safety, security, and operational efficiency of DP World UK Terminals. The Support & Communication Engineer will be primarily responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, and compliance of all related infrastructure, including surveillance cameras, access panels, radios, repeaters, and control systems. This role ensures uninterrupted operations and alignment with regulatory and security standards. In addition to primary responsibilities, the Engineer will also support system upgrades, vendor management, and incident response, while contributing to the continuous improvement of infrastructure and compliance with GDPR and IT security policies. Location: Stanford le Hope Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri) How you will contribute Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot CCTV systems including cameras, NVRs, and video management software. Oversee and administer Access Control systems, managing user access, policies, and badge permissions. Ensure 24/7 availability of all critical surveillance and access equipment across the facility. Commission new CCTV, access, and radio equipment including installation, configuration, testing, and go-live validation. Maintain accurate system documentation, floor plans, and change records. Respond to and resolve faults or service failures, escalating to vendors when necessary. Track and report performance against Maintenance & Support (M&S) KPIs. Manage spare hardware inventory to ensure quick system recovery. Lead communication with vendors for maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and compliance audits. Ensure all systems comply with GDPR, health & safety, and IT security policies. Continuously assess system improvement opportunities and lead upgrade projects when needed. Manage vendor performance and enforce service contracts. What You Will Bring Degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Electronics, or Security Systems Engineering. Experience with CCTV systems (e.g., Milestone, Axis), Access Control (e.g., Lenel, Genetec), and Radio Communication systems. Strong technical understanding of networked security systems, fault diagnostics, and system commissioning. Proven ability to manage third-party vendors and enforce service contracts. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to handle critical incidents calmly and effectively.
