Job Description:
As an Auditor, you will support our Compliance Caseworkers (Tax Specialists) in tax, duties, and levies investigations.
You will provide technical systems and data interrogation support to address non-compliance and electronic sales suppression. This involves analyzing and understanding customers' computerized systems, software, processes, and data related to their accounts.
You will mentor and coach junior colleagues, building their confidence and skills. We are committed to supporting your personal development. The role involves:
* Interviewing customers and their representatives, either virtually or face-to-face across the UK.
* Using critical thinking to analyze systems and processes, identifying risks and errors.
* Communicating findings and recommendations clearly in reports and formal settings.
* Managing multiple cases, meeting targets, and updating internal systems.
* Documenting systems and audit trails, including software details.
* Leading analysis of complex systems and data, producing audit reports.
* Testing the accuracy of customers' financial and tax data.
* Creating and reviewing internal guidance, audit techniques, and best practices.
* Reconstructing partial data records using judgment and evidence.
* Supporting and coaching junior auditors on technical aspects.
Person specification:
No prior tax knowledge is required. We seek candidates with:
* Good computer literacy, including Office 365, Excel, and Word proficiency.
* Ability to analyze data critically and draw logical conclusions.
* An interest in IT issues.
* Confidence with unfamiliar software.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Good organizational skills for managing multiple cases.
Desirable criteria include understanding of information systems, accounting software, governance, risk management, and data analysis techniques.
